La Bontà started small — one recipe, one oven, and a belief that good food shouldn't need an occasion. Here's how a home kitchen became a bakery, a café, and a pizzeria.
Before La Bontà had a storefront, it had a kitchen table. Cakes were baked in small batches, packed carefully, and delivered by hand — mostly to neighbours, then to their friends, then to people we'd never met who'd heard about "the cake place" from someone else.
That word-of-mouth is still how most people find us. As the orders grew, so did the menu — brownies to go alongside the cakes, then espresso and shakes for people who wanted to stay a while, then a wood-fired oven because a bakery this close to the kitchen felt incomplete without pizza and pasta on the table too.
Today La Bontà is a full bakery, café, and pizzeria — but the recipes, the batches, and the care haven't changed. We still bake, cook, and serve the way we did on day one: fresh, by hand, and without shortcuts.
Every celebration cake starts here — designed, layered, and finished by hand for the occasion it's meant for.
Trained on Neapolitan technique, our pizzaiolo keeps the oven and the dough at the centre of the kitchen.
The team that remembers your order, your table, and — more often than not — your name.
Nothing comes out of a freezer. If it's on the counter, it was made that day.
We'd rather bake twice a day than compromise on what goes into a single batch.
A good table feels like being looked after, not just served — that's the standard we hold to.
We grew because our neighbours told their friends. We try to earn that every single day.
Every cake, brownie, pizza, and bowl of pasta comes out of the same open kitchen — no separate commissary, no shortcuts between "made" and "served."
We'd love to have you at our table.
